Down to Their Last at Bat

Well its about that time again. Time for beta.

Its no secret that raiders as a whole are fairly unhappy with the game. Lets review:

- Desert of Flames (entire expansion) Strike 1
- Kingdom of Sky (itemization and progression) Strike 2

So now we have Echoes of Faydwer. Will it deliver on so many unfufilled promises? One would hope so, however I am not an optomist. The glass is half empty here and beta is off to a bad start.

So far it is just the friends and family beta, yet the entire guild of Fires of Heaven, Drow, and Second Dawn are in beta already. Ne Plus Ultra and The Bekwen Alliance will also be added to beta as a guild, and possibly others. This proves that SOE has learned nothing.

With no level cap increase here is exactly what will happen when EoF goes live:

1. Beta guild logs in and rushes to some zone in EoF
2. Beta guild clears through raid zone/raid access quest/contested mob in first pull
3. Every raid guild that wasnt in beta doesnt even know this zone/quest/mob exsist
4. Should a non beta guild be lucky enough to stumble upon the zone/quest/mob they will have to pull and learn the encounter or explore or whatever where the beta guild will have perfected it during the 2 months of beta.

How pathetic is this? There is no level increase this time to even slow down the beta guilds. You might as well give them the laser goggles because unless the guild sucks, there is no way a beta guild should lose any meaningful world firsts in EoF. Let me repeat that, if you are a beta guild and you lose a meaningful world first in EoF to a non beta guild, you suck. You have a 2month head start. You will know the encounter, you will know where it is, how to pull it, what it does, how to kill it. EVERYTHING about the encounter will be common knowledge to your guild, where non beta guilds will be gazing upon it for the first time.

Congrats SOE on putting EoF in a huge hole. Calling off the "race" before the expansion even hits store shelves is the wrong foot to start on. And to the beta guilds, grats on beta info. I for one will not be impressed by a single thing world firsted by a beta guild. If your so damn good, you should have declined being in beta, otherwise its just sad in my book.

EL Strikes Again!

Wow, just when you think Ethereal Legacy has crawled back into their hole, something new and equally retarded involving them rears its head.

http://www.eq2flames.com/showthread.php?t=78

In short, multiple people in EL have receive Chel'drak's Tooth. You know, the mythical, ONE PER SERVER item off of Chel'drak. The person who has a second one is not a server transfer and has been with EL since before they killed it the first time.

If you read that thread, Crabbok admits they knew it was wrong and forgot to unequip it for the night to hide it from EQ2player profiles. How pathetic.

This is probably the lamest thing EL has done to date. And, it all goes to show that if SOE would just perma-ban completely stupid people that say and do completely stupid things, a lot less retarded shit would go on.

I sincerely hope the whole guild receives at least a suspension for failing to report this obvious oversight and taking advantage of it. And for Nadia (the person with the extra tooth), she should be banned for good.

And just when I thought the joke was over...

Extra! Extra!

EQ2 Flames

This is a new message board central hosted up by a guild member of mine. Its just like the official SOE boards, except your not going to be moderated, have your posts edited, deleted, etc for saying whats on your mind.

Generally I dont put much faith in these 3rd party boards because SOE with this game has done everything in their power to squash anything like them, but there are a good number of people already posting over there from a variety of servers. Several of them "big name" players in the game so I wanted to promote it a little bit.

The only downside of these boards so far is that the devs obviously do not post on them. That may change, although I doubt it. But, in my experience I can tell you this much, the only times a post gets dev attention is when someone emails a dev and links it to them about how and why its a good point and needs attention. There are just far too many threads all complaining about something and quite frankly, the devs dont care to read them all, so you may as well post somewhere you are free to speak what your actually thinking.

With that, I hope everyone checks out www.eq2flames.com

Jacked Up

Back up and running. Charter still sucks.

Having a hard time reading the boards since I know any reply worth a damn from me is going to result in me being banned yet again. Will post something hopefully more interesting soon.

Blasphemy!

The Devil

I hate those guys. You know they are slow to getting things set up when dialup becomes a speedy alternative. Oh, and no, there arent any other options in the area.

Go Red Sox!

As the Boston Red Sox fall further and further behind in the American League wild card race, Tamat and Ogaming fall further and further away from interviewing real raid guilds for their Born to Raid series.

Why the Bostom Red Sox comment you may ask? Well its simple, this go around the lucky contestant is Drow. You know that guild with Curt Schilling. Read all about it here.

On another note, Im going to be moving this weekend and fuck it takes a lot longer than it should to get highspeed internet hooked up.
